ENGLISH BIBLE CLUB: The Gospel According to Mark

Who was Jesus? Why does it matter? Our English Bible Club is currently reading through the Gospel According to Mark, an eye-witness account of the life, teaching and significance of Jesus Christ. We are reading about who Jesus is and what he did, and seeing how he is God’s special king, the Christ. The English Bible Club is on each THURSDAY, 7PM at Southside International Church Admin Centre, in Sunnybank. Come and practise English and learn about Christianity at the same time. Anyone is welcome join this activity! You don’t have to be a Christian to join us. Bring all your questions!

NOTE: The Sunday Night YOUNG ADULTS event is no longer continuing in the structured worship service format. There will still be a gathering for young adults on Sunday nights, called SUNDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP … in a less formal style. Please contact us for more details!

At SIC we also hold a night service, from 5:30pm – 7pm. This gathering is especially aimed at “Young Adults” (18-35 year old), but not exclusively. (Anyone is welcome, but there is no provision of specific ministry or care for children.) The gatherings include normal elements of worship, such as preaching, singing and prayer. It is usually held in the SIC “Worship Centre”.

We love to help people know Jesus better, and think the best way to do that is through understanding the Bible, and helping each other to live out what we know from God’s Word. We welcome anyone, whether you are already a Christian, or whether you are just interested to find out more about Jesus, but not yet ready to follow Him.

You can find out more details on the SIC Young Adults Web page.

You can also visit our Facebook page for other up-to-date information on what is happening:

“not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit”, says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6)

As we take the next step in our journey of developing the property at Sunnybank Hills we recognize our utter dependence on God and are therefore asking Him …

  • to renew our passion for Jesus Himself
  • to give us a “season of harvest” where more people will come to know Jesus
  • for “His provision” as we apply for “Development Approval” with Brisbane City Council and seek to raise $3 million

Pray with us as we join together in the 4:6 prayer challenge

  • pray @ 4:06pm
  • pray every day
  • pray for 1 month starting Sunday 14 September

Christian Training Program

The Christian Training Program is a Biblical study on the life of Jesus.

At Southside we believe that the purposes of God go beyond evangelism, to the building up of a mature people of Christ.

The Christian Training Program (CTP) provides for this need. Based on Biblical teachings throughout, this course comprehensively equips all God’s people for His service. The whole program consists of 6 consecutive books. It combines lessons for individual home study with group discussion, along with practical ministry assignments each week.

This course aims to introduce the student to all the basic disciplines of the Christian life and ministry, providing:

  • a thorough knowledge of Christ’s life and ministry
  • a comparative analysis of the four Gospels
  • the Old Testament background to Christ’s ministry
  • techniques of study, reflection and application
  • an outline of systematic theology
  • a comparison of Christianity with other religions
  • an emphasis on practical ministry in the local church

A number of different classes are available at various times.

You are invited to join our fellowship lunch once a month at the Training Centre after worship. It is usually on the second Sunday of each month. There is a newcomers orientation after lunch every 2 months.
